All personal data records kept by the organization are obtained, processed, used, and retained in accordance with the data protection standards (based on the Data Protection Acts) as outlined in the data protection policy;
- Acquire and handle the data and information with integrity.
- Maintain complete confidentiality – Appropriate security measures must be implemented to protect the data from loss, misuse, tampering, or destruction, whether by design or accident.
- Keep it genuine, correct, comprehensive, and up to date.
- Don’t go above what’s necessary when using or disclosing it.
- Only keep information for the purpose(s) for which it was collected or as required by law.
- Make sure it’s just the right amount without going overboard.
- Keep the files safe for as long as they are needed for the project.
- If a person requests a copy of his or her personal information in writing, you must provide that person with a copy.
- PRIMEHSE is required to provide you with access to and copies of your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998. A topic access request is what you’ll need to fill this out.
- At regular intervals and as needed, the policy should be assessed for effectiveness.
